Remittance Processing Services News

TAWPI Remittance Processing Benchmarking Study - An assessment of remittance processing industry operations and trends.

TAWPI has produced its second Remittance Processing Benchmarking Study for the benefit of TAWPI's members, financial institutions, corporate billers and solutions providers. This study was built on TAWPI's first Remittance Processing Study conducted in 2001. It measures the performance of remittance processing operations in light of technological changes over the past four years.

TAWPI engaged Dove Consulting to collect the new data that reflects industry changes and assists processors in improving their productivity, overall quality, and cost effectiveness through the sharing of industry best practices within their peer group.

This study is based on a large-scale data collection effort involving an extensive questionnaire, which was sent to approximately 600 U.S. remittance processors. These operations belong to a cross-section of services industries and processing environments and represent organizations that handle the vast majority of automated remittance processing services in the United States.

Data in the report includes:

  • Benchmarking data from more than 100 remittance processing sites
  • Participants from banking, utilities, telecommunications, insurance, credit card, state government, wholesale and retail lockboxes

Get critical information on:

  • Equipment and suppliers used across various functions

  • Inbound mail volume, staffing and paid hours

  • Processes that are used to perform the work including ACH, ARC, and check imaging

  • Plans and priorities for the next two years

  • And much more!
